Wednesday night, we discussed the life and death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, who passed away at his Hyannis Port, Massachusetts home on Tuesday.  We’ll took your calls as we all remembered the Lion of the Senate.

Moderator’s Note: We don’t have the technology to screen calls on The Weekly Filibuster.  As a result, some of the early calls were very negative, some coming from the anti-semitic listeners who plagued our show with David Appletree of the Jewish Internet Defense Force.  The callers drop off after the first few rounds–we encourage you to listen to the whole show.  We were very bothered by the negativity, and are looking for solutions to fix this problem in the future.

Gene Amondson dies

In Guests on July 27, 2009 at 3:20 pm

Preacher, Painter, Cookbook author, and the 2004 and 2008 Prohibition Party Nominee for President, Gene Amondson passed away last week at the age of 65.

Always quirky and controversial, Rev. Amondson was twice a guest on The Weekly Filibuster, discussing the passion of his life: reinstating prohibition and banning sale of alcohol.  You can listen to both of our conversations with Gene below.

As you may recall, Rev. Amondson offered our program’s Christian listeners free copies of his Illustrated Mt. Rainier Pie Cookbook.  It looks as if Amondson’s family has made the cookbook available to all faiths, now available here.
